Vermont Woods Studios began when a talented group of world-class furniture makers, working independently from their small studios scattered across the state, came together to share their passions both for excellence in craftsmanship and for sustainability. Together we have created a community of artisans and environmentalists dedicated not only to quality in our craft, but also to the preservation of our natural environment.

We are Vermonters. Vermont's breathtaking Green Mountains continually inspire us in our work and provide most of our raw materials. Our distinctive, heirloom quality furniture thus reflects the simple elegance and individuality of our home state. Each piece in our artisan collection is unique, made in a small studio, usually by a single craftsperson, with the occasional help of an apprentice or a family member. We begin with premium solid hardwoods and employ traditional techniques and natural finishes that highlight the inherent beauty of the wood. Independent Quality-Oriented Furniture-Makers

Vermont Woods Studios works to provide gifted independent artisans, who are unable to afford conventional channels for marketing their goods, access to the furniture market. We encourage this multi-cultural group of passionate craftspeople, dedicated to utmost quality and style, by matching them with customers both online and through galleries and expositions.

Environmental and Social Responsibility

Vermont Woods Studios is fully certified by the Forest Stewardship Council for our commitment to the use of sustainable woods in our furniture. We are also involved with several nonprofit organizations-- such as Kids Saving the Planet, the World Wildlife Fund and the Rainforest Alliance-- to lend our support for projects promoting sustainable forestry and the protection of endangered species.
